“I never imagined that I would ever be able to buy
such a big house. In the mornings it is always very beautiful here,
especially when it's foggy. It seems as if neighboring hills are
appearing from sea waves. In the evenings I can endlessly watch
the movement of clouds in a beautiful, sunset sky ... "
The estate Villa Il Palagio, which is located among the
hilly, fertile Tuscan countryside south of Florence, was
purchased by Sting in 1997 from Duke Simon Vincenzo di San Clemente.
Mansion surrounded by vineyards built in the 16th century in the Chianti region
above the picturesque town of Figline Valdarno, a 45-minute drive from
Florence. The updated house became for Sting and his wife
Trudy Styler is their favorite summer vacation spot
a large family and their friends.
Estate - villa, its guest houses, vineyards and olive
groves were lovingly restored by the new owners and
became fully functioning organic farm. Now homemade lavender and
olive oil, honey and wines are sold under the Il Palagio label. family now
Stinga can enjoy all the delights of rural life : thanks to successful
operation of the farm, they have their own dairy, wine cellars and apiary.
On the site "Il Palagio" you can buy five varieties of honey and
three varieties of wine from their vineyards. Vineyard renovation works
orchards and olive groves were carried out for seven years under
by landscape designer Arabella Lennox-Boyd.
In the absence of the owners, the villa functions as a hotel.
Guests can practice yoga in a special room, enjoy a giant
chessboard on the terrace, areas with sun loungers
in the garden, wine cellar and swimming pool.
